JLA Memorial Fund / FUNDRAISING

About the JLA Fund and how you can contribute…

The Jeff Anderson Memorial Fund was founded in 2003 with a very specific vision, to raise the necessary funds to build a world-class skatepark paying homage to Jeffy in his hometown of Mammoth Lakes, California.

Through generous donations from Jeff’s sponsors and friends, tireless fundraising, donations of art, love, time, blood, sweat and tears, the Brothers skateboard park opened on September 24th, 2005. The park was constructed by Grindline, and is currently one of the largest skateboard parks in California – not to mention one of the most scenic. Brothers is an amazing place to skate whether you are beginner or advanced, and you’ll never know who you’ll find skateboarding there on any given day. It’s a great place to explore with art integrated all over it, and many organic features like concrete going up to rocks and trees making everything skateable. Brothers is hands down one of the best skateboard parks ever – ask anyone that’s ever skated it.

The next step for the JLA Fund is to create a sister spot in Mammoth – a Gallery in Jeff’s name. Proceeds from the I AM SNOWBOARDING art exhibit  will go toward a winter gallery starting Fall 2010/2011. A space in Jeff’s footsteps where snowboarders and skateboarders … artists and friends of all ages from all places … can share inspiration.

It is the goal of the I AM SNOWBOARDING project to make these plans come to life. And through the offering of art and appreciation of art we can make it happen together. We are currently raising money through sales of prints on ASYMBOLgallery.com and now through IAMJLA.org with the sale of the JLA Banners and bookmarks.

The JLA Banners are currently hanging on Main Street Mammoth. There are 23 banners, one for each art piece – and only one of each. Banners are available for $150 and buyers will receive them in the mail once they come down. Proceeds are a charitable contribution and go directly to the JLA Memorial Fund.

Banners were designed by I AM… artist PETER STOW and are 23.5″ by 74.5″ – printed on both sides and made of reinforced weather resistant polyester vinyl suitable for outdoor use.

On a smaller scale, Wendoh Media has created sets of bookmarks from the banner design. One set is $15, two sets $20.
