Trevor Graves has the privilege of being one of the pioneers of snowboarding photography. Chasing snow in the era of snowboarding’s most phenomenal growth– 1988-2000– TG went around the world and back again more times to count. Along the way he framed shots of Jeff Brushie, Craig Kelly, Jamie Lynn, Dave Downing, Matt Goodwill, Dale Rehberg, and countless others, including the first professional shoot with Shaun White. In 2000 he won the Crystal Awards, the action sports photo shoot-off held in St. Mortiz, Switzerland.

Co-founder of Nemo, he is currently at the wheel of one of Portland’s most exciting branding/marketing/photography/interactive shops. Along with partners Chris Hotz, Jeff Bartel and Mark Lewman, Trevor has steered the company through 10 phenomenal years of commercial and artistic output. Nemo was a key player behind Nike 6.0. Other clients include HP, Bell Helmets, and Smith. Through it all, Trevor has tapped more free kegs than can be counted at legendary Nemo parties and installations that have promoted local artists, musicians and culture makers. His ongoing projects include ever-expanding Nemo business, personal video/photography, and husband/Dad duties for his rad wife Amy and their three little ones.

“For this project I chose this image of the Matterhorn in Switzerland for a few reasons. When you think of the Alps, the range itself is so vast and overwhelming, it is hard for a single mountain to stand out. The Matterhorn is one of those special peaks that have the independence to stand out in the crowd. Metaphorically I made this comparison to Jeff. He never wanted to stand in older brother’s Billy’s shadow. Bill went to the Mt. Baker race and Jeff hit the urban rails in progressive way, finding his own light! It was important to Jeff to stand on his own.” – tg
