Super Champion

“I have been living up in British Columbia, Canada for the last ten plus years and in the last 2 have opened up a bicycle shop near the down town core. I have still been making time to shred, but never as much as I would like. I am engaged to a very cool lady and we are planning on getting married next summer. That is my big news. I’m addicted to coffee and working on my Triumph chopper. Getting a coffee in the morning is a priority. My biggest creative outlet for the past few years was my business, and now that it’s more self sufficient, I’m looking forward to getting back into another creative project that can be focused towards, the process of making.”

Thoughts about the art process for this project: When you pass on, no one knows what happens to you. I believe it’s personal preference. I want to become part of nature, part of everything in nature that inspires me as a person. For me nature is the most powerful force, I feel being part of that in spirit form, would be the highest of the high, the peak of calmness and relaxation, and I think of that when I think of Jeff.

A story about Jeff that you would like to share: In maybe 1992, me and some friends were sessioning this handrail in Incline Village NV, at a school. I think it was me and Jon Sommers. It was snowing pretty hard and we had been at the rail for a few hours. I remember me and Jeff always had a bit of a rivalry when we were young, because we were both about the same age, but rode for different company’s. So a car pulls up and it’s Jeff, Billy his brother, and a few other guys who were all filming for the Volcom movie or some movie at the time. I remember the rail was really long, so it was taking most guys a number of tries before they were getting the hang of it. I remember how good Jeff was, he would take a turn then I would go. Jeff ended up doing this rail, or getting a few tricks in the bag. We all stayed till dark, people backed up their cars and turned on their lights, until the batteries was dead. Just a good memory of snowboarding with friends, fun times!
